About Design
Jacob's drive for this design was to push his design language to its limit and introduce new ideas! He wanted it to embody everything a JLD knife is: great ergonomics, lefty-friendly, a great user experience, fun to open and close, and more. This represents the largest departure from his traditional aesthetics but still remains true to his love for clean lines and great details. Jacob hopes everyone enjoys the Vivid as much as he does and finds it as enjoyable to use!
About Designer
Jacob Lundquist is an industrial designer, CNC machinist, and manufacturing engineer with nearly 20 years of experience. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jacob has had a lifelong passion for knives and EDC.
He founded Qvist Bladeworks in 2021 and now focuses on designing and creating EDC products, custom knives, and production pieces. His work combines practical functionality with a strong design and manufacturing background.
