Ostap Hel is a full-time designer and custom knife & gear maker from Poland. Since childhood, he has loved drawing—something that runs in the family. His father, a graduate of the Academy of Arts, exposed him early to the creative world.
Ostap’s interest in knives began in his teenage years through a fascination with the Middle Ages. He apprenticed in an armorer’s workshop where he learned traditional medieval metalworking, eventually evolving toward CNC and precision manual machining.
His designs are rooted in geometry, smooth transitions, and the Golden Ratio. In collaborations, he enjoys pushing creative boundaries to suit the style and production methods of his partners.
